Emma Soberano is the instructional designer for the CASCaDE initiative from the Bowman Center. She works with subject matter experts to create engaging, approachable resources for equity-minded leadership empowerment of higher education professionals. Emma holds a doctorate from the department of English Language & Literature at the University of Michigan, where her interdisciplinary research focused on race, colonialism, and ecological knowledge and management practices depicted in nineteenth-century British literature, and contemporary authors’ reimaginings of these topics through Neo-Victorian novels.
